EDGE Quick Credit: Educating O&P One Credit at a Time
Western Media, publisher of The O&P EDGE, has announced the pilot phase of EDGE Quick Credit™. The program is being offered in cooperation with the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy), the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC), and oandp.com.
The EDGE Quick Credit program provides manufacturers who advertise in The O&P EDGE a simple way to offer and market one- to two-credit ABC-approved continuing education courses about their products. In return, readers of The O&P EDGE will have an easy, cost-effective way to get basic clinical information about new products and earn CEUs at the same time.
When an advertiser purchases the EDGE Quick Credit logo from The O&P EDGE and sends in its course materials according to the EDGE Quick Credit course submission guidelines, The O&P EDGE facilitates the ABC approval process as well as placement of the course on the Academy's Online Learning Center (OLC). When readers see the EDGE Quick Credit logo on a display ad in The O&P EDGE, they will be able to access the course material immediately by scanning the QR code or using the URL listed under the logo.
"Ads with the EDGE Quick Credit logo will be distributed to more than 14,600 reader mailboxes each month that they run," said Kim Espinosa, director of sales and marketing for The O&P EDGE. "EDGE Quick Credit Courses will get added exposure in The O&P EDGE print and online Calendar section, in the magazine's Advertisers' index, and in the online flip edition of The O&P EDGE."
"Because the course is tied directly to a display ad in The O&P EDGE, we're providing our advertisers with a unique tool to track the effectiveness of their print advertising campaigns," Espinosa added.
One-credit courses will be offered for $20; two-credit courses will be offered for $40. Because the manufacturer is supplementing a portion of the course fee, The O&P EDGE is able to offer test-takers an economical, flat-rate fee on EDGE Quick Credit courses, Espinosa said. Once the course is live on the OLC, it will be available for 60 days. Western Media plans to officially launch EDGE Quick Credit at the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) World Congress in September.
